Treatment Approach

 

Family Nursing is practiced with groups of two families. This has been shown to be helpful because 

• the families share their experiences and help each other with ideas to overcome difficulties
• the families will restrain themselves from argumentation with each other and hurtful comments

 The treatment follows the nursing process described in - The Frameworks, Nursing Process, Intervention. 

The treatment approach is mixed: Education about family functioning, counseling about making changes and practice the changes, and experiential exercises to enhance understanding of roles and relationships.
